Angarsk: 40 years of the Angarsk Construction Department (1948-1988)

Some time ago I scanned an album dedicated to the 40th anniversary (1948-1988) of the Ангарское управление строительства (Angarsk Construction Department).

In the album there were photos of Angarsk from different years. And I added some more of my photos taken from the ground (September 2023).

Disclaimer: My photographs are nothing more than a documentation of reality.

Samsung NX2000: Screen buttons (MF+, Custom)

While exploring the features of the Samsung NX2000, I didn't understand how to zoom in when manually focusing with a non-electronic lens. Usually on NX cameras, this is done with the OK button, but there is no such hardware button here.

In fact, I decided that there is no magnification option at all under such conditions. But that's not so bad. Under such conditions, the MF(+) button appears on the screen:

Pressing it is equivalent to pressing OK.

Among the on-screen buttons, there is also the [C]ustom button. On the NX2000 it is configured exactly like the hardware Custom button on the NX300:

In general, my first impression is that the NX2000 is very close to the NX300.

Noname [OEM] 50/1.1 FF: My experience [3/3]

(see part 1)

When shooting small subjects, the f/1.1 aperture blurs the background to make it look smooth.

Almost no bubbles, etc.

Noname [OEM] 50/1.1 FF: My experience [2/3]

(see part 1)

I don't yet know if the claimed f/1.1 is true, but it does allow you to blur the background of even fairly large subjects.

I have a feeling that f/1.1 is a usable aperture.

Background blur is generally quite smooth.

Again, I like the performance of this budget lens at f/1.1.

Noname [OEM] 50/1.1 FF: My experience [1/3]

I liked the Noname [OEM ] 50/1.1 full-frame lens (for Sony FE/E). It's cheap, quite small. At closed aperture (f/8) it has good resolution for the 24MP FF sensor of the Sony a7c.

Although it is a fast lens, it can be used for landscape photography.

The lens has 11 (an odd number) aperture blades, so you get too much sunstar rays.

The shutter speed of 1/8000 (with the Sony a7c's full electronic shutter) is fast enough to use f/1.1 in sunlight.

At least if you shoot in raw, which allows you to recover highlights.

You can even shoot landscapes at f/1.1. With a loss of resolution and a narrow depth of field, of course.

But it's nowhere near as bad as you might expect.
